My Newest Painting!

I took a trip this past summer from Austin to LA and then up to Portland as a Ma-moadie (that's a Mom who is pretending to be a Roadie) with my daughter who is a singer songwriter. It was an amazing trip and I took hundreds of photos with future paintings in mind. My favorite so far was inspired by a hike we took together through Big Bend National Park. That's her in the foreground as I followed behind. Keep in mind that this is where the Trumpster is planning his wall. The left side of the towering mountains is Mexico and the Right is Texas, and the wall supposedly is going down the middle - Whaaaaaat???!!!

Portrait by Commission

This was a commissioned portrait of a gentleman that passed away a couple years ago. It was requested by his former company as a dedication to their boardroom. I was given several photos of him and began the project with a 2 hour session with his widow to get a better idea of his personality and the best way to portray him. It was an amazing project and the client was very happy with the final result. The best feedback I could have ever received was from his widow who commented, "You were able to capture his gentle spirit". I never had the opportunity to actually meet him, but he will be in my heart forever.
